Bridge City Tool Works Mini Honing Guide
The Mini Honing Guide allows you to quickly and easily hone your standard HP-8 Mini Block Plane irons to precisely 30°, as per standard setup.
Slip the iron into the device so that the bevel touches a flat surface and so both rollers are firmly grounded, then lock it into place with the knob. Now run this set up over your honing stone with the certainty that the angle is perfect and the bevel is parallel across the iron.
Your plane irons should be honed frequently for the best performance. Irons which become worn or nicked will need to be ground on a coarse stone first, before being honed on a finer stone.
