This a robust mortiser of cast iron construction with plenty of power to cut 19mm mortises easily. The table movement is controlled by two hand wheels, one for longitudinal and one for the transverse movement, the movement is smooth and precise with dovetail slides and jib strips for longer life.
The table has a wooden facing for through mortising as well as a length stop for repetitive jig work, a quick acting vice and two cam-operated work clamps hold the work securely allowing you the freedom to concentrate on placement. The down feed handle can be easily re-positioned on its shaft to give the most convenient working position delivering a positive action and a cut that comes easily.
The weight of the head is counter balanced by a gas strut and the vertical movement of the head is controlled by a pair of stops and an easy-to-read scale. This is a serious floor mounted machine for the serious enthusiast, professional or school workshop. The unit is supplied with cabinet stand and handy storage cupboard and with one 5/8" chisel.
