The Kreg Precision Router Table System is one of the more versatile router tables available on the market.
It allows most routers to be mounted, with some pre-drilled router plates for convenience, the fence opening is adjustable, and the laminated table surface allows for any material to be passed over it easily and safely.
When working with larger diameter bits, such as mitre lock bits and raised panel bits, the ability to open the fence to accommodate the bit is invaluable, while still offering efficient dust extraction. Jointing rods are also provided, to offset the outfeed or trailing fence forward of the infeed fence. Set the outfeed fence flush to the bit, and you can now use the fence like a jointer or plane. The self-squaring fence always maintains the fence is parallel to the mitre slot.
The top is 25mm MDF and 609mm x 813mm with 2mm thick ABS edge tape, it really has that solid thud type feel that absorbs vibration, making it a pleasure to use. The phenolic insert remains flat and is just 9.5mm thick so only minimal depth of cut is lost. The Level-Loc Reducing Rings and the inserted into the router plate, the appropriate ring is selected to best suit the bit in use to best aid dust extraction and reduce the gap around the bit. Precision Router Table Insert Plate Levelers both level the router plate and lock it into place.
The Kreg stand is the additional step that sets the table apart from others, it is adjustable in height, yet uses high quality components. Constructed from four sturdy 12-gauge steel and eight 16-gauge steel rails, all pre-drilled for quick assembly. Leg levellers and feet allow for an adjustment of 203mm to cater for uneven floors, with the overall height 787mm to 991mm so it can be adjusted to suit everyone. This is the same system that the Kreg Universal Benches use, so the same stands can be used through the workshop as well to match in both look and height.
