Paring chisels are a long flat chisel that were traditionally used by cabinetmakers and pattern makers who need to be able to slice thin slivers of timber away. They needed a chisel that could be controlled easily that has tapers towards the cutting edge so as not to bind when getting into tight areas and spaces. The Robert Sorby paring chisel has these features fitted with a traditional boxwood handle. The length and design of these chisels makes removing timber easy.
