The Festool OF 1400W Plunge Router is probably their most versatile and popular model router, it is powerful enough to cope with most jobs, is light enough to be used handheld, powerful enough to use in a router table, and boasts features that other routers do not have. Jigs and attachments connect without the need for tools quickly, so there is minimal downtime. Router bit change is made easy with the use a ratchet style collet, fit the spanner to the collet, select either to loosen or tighten the bit and move the spanner back and forth like a socket without the need to remove it several times. The depth control is so very accurate, with height adjustment controlled using the re-settable micro-adjuster.
Used with a dust hood and a Festool Dust Extractor, an incredible 99% of all chips can be extracted during edge routing. Connecting to a variety of accessories and jigs, this router can do so much more than it can on its own. Fine height adjustment range is 8mm, before resetting is required, set the approx. height before fine tuning using the micro-adjuster. For safety, it is equipped with a quick acting brake, bringing it to a stop quickly.
